I have so many gifts below Bestowed by God above. So little thanks I give for them, So slighted is His Love. Thus just and fitting it would be For me to thank Him here For precious gift of loving Dad: A gift I hold most dear. My father is a godly man, Whom God did give to me To show me how to love the Good, And thus to set me free. He is the one whom God ordained To guard me from the foe, To guide me 'long the narrow path, And lessen life's cruel blow. My Dad he is a mighty man, He hoists weights in the gym. His chest is huge and both his arms Are anything but slim. For work he heals the sickened child, For whom life seems so bleak, And thus he shows what is a man: Strength given for the weak. And gifted father gifted me His name upon my birth. Oh that I might become the man, The man that he is worth! So thank you Father throned on high For Dad on this here day. I could not live without the guide, Who’s brought me all this way.
